Abarth & Motto GP

For the third year running, Abarth is the Official Sponsor and Official Car Supplier of the Yamaha Factory Racing Team that is competing in the 2017 FIM MotoGP World Championship. The scorpion badge is sported on the front fairing of Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales’ Yamaha YZR-M1 bikes. The championship started on March 26 in Losail, Qatar, and will end on November 12 in Valencia, Spain, with the Valencian Community Motorcycle Grand Prix on the Ricardo Tormo race track. Both riders are doing well so far in the championship

The Abarth and Yamaha partnership has brought forth an exclusive two-wheel creation: it is the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth, the first bike resulting from the collaboration and which shares the same grey livery with red finish as the “Tributo XSR”, a concept car in the best Yamaha style, that fits many carbon fibre components to reassert the affinity of this four-wheel prototype with motorbikes, like the front fairing, the front bumper and the seat cover. The concept car and the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth also share Akrapovič ultralight exhaust developed in the racing world to boost the personality, sound and performance of both vehicles. The XSR logo is sported on the tailgate of the concept car.

Abarth have also produced the 595 Pista (Italian for track) as the latest edition to the 595 brand which is aimed at young customers and is inserted in the slot between the 595 145 HP and the 595 Tourismo 165HP.
